March Board Meeting!
The District #84 School Board hosts one of their meetings in each of the schools to get a chance to see what is happening in each of the buildings. March was Hester's turn to host and several Hester students presented to the board.
First, the Coffee Crew taught by Mrs. Kozin served coffee to each board member and talked about the skills they are learning in class. Members of the coffee crew include: Erik D, Jannette G, Gio M, Ramon G, Robert D, Ailyn O. Mr. Barker also came out to support the coffee crew! Nice job!
Next we heard from student council officers Isabella H, Amber B, and JuVontae S. about some of their accomplishments from this year. They also presented about what they have learned being leaders of the school. Thanks Mrs. Ignacio and Mrs. Sanchez for hosting student council this year!
Then a select crew of 8th grade students presented their research projects about different careers. Josh U, Sashenka S, Cristina M, Jael R, and Lilah P. talked about their chosen careers and shared some discoveries they made during their research. Mrs. Bernath is proud of all your work!
Finally, Irvin O. and Mark O. presented their science fair project, Pinocchio's nose, that they constructed for Shrek the Musical Jr. The boys won an award at the science fair held at Brookfield Zoo for the STEM project created in Mrs. Pina's class.
