Dr. Lourdes Ferrer Visit

Dr. Lourdes Ferrer presented to Hester 8th grade students on ways for students to advocate for their education.  Her words are based on the book "Seven Habits of Effective Teens" by Sean Covey.  The students were engaged in her presentation and took away some great strategies to help them move forward in the future.

IAEA Conference 2017

One of my favorite times of year is the annual Illinois Art Education Association fall conference because I get to teach and learn with hundreds of art teachers from around the state.  This year I presented two workshops: Recyclables to Magnificent Papier Mache Sculptures and Involving Students in the Assessment Process.  Both sessions went great and had a positive response from the participants. 6th and 7th Grade Basketball Game

I am lucky enough to have wonderful students at Hester who love to go above and beyond the call of duty.  I co-sponsor yearbook club with Ms. Ryan and we have a wonderful committed group this year that is working on creating a FABULOUS yearbook.  As our official yearbook photographer, Sebastian Portillo spent two games before winter break capturing these action-packed shots of the Hester Boys Basketball Team and I couldn't wait for the yearbook release to share these photos.  Check it out!  Thanks Sebastian for your awesome hard work!
